I signed in on a new phone and my notes are gone. What happened?

Your notes are safe, they are just on a different account. Google, Apple, Microsoft, and email are each treated as a separate sign-in unless you link them, so signing in with a different method than you used before opens a new, empty account instead of your old one. To switch methods without losing access: on the device that still has your notes, tap the gear icon, open "Account", and under "Connected accounts" choose "Link with Apple" or "Link with Google". Once linked, either method opens the same notes on any device. If you have already signed in with a different method and landed on an empty account, do not sign out of or delete either one. Send us the User ID from both (gear icon, "Account", "Copy User ID") and we will move your notes across. This is done by hand so it is not instant, but nothing is lost while you wait.
