CraftNote for Google Calendar
CraftNote logoGoogle Calendar

Your meetings, ready to record.

Connect Google Calendar and CraftNote shows your upcoming meetings, nudges you to record just before each one, and can optionally auto-join and record the call for you.

Overview

What connecting Google Calendar does

CraftNote reads your calendar so your meetings show up in the app ahead of time. It uses that in two ways: a quiet reminder just before a call, and an optional meeting bot that joins and records for you. The connection is read-only — CraftNote never writes to your calendar.

What you get

See upcoming events and attach a note to each, get a reminder about a minute before a call starts, and — if you turn on Auto Join in the mobile app — have CraftNote send a bot that joins your Zoom, Meet or Teams call around five minutes before and records it. You can also start recording manually any time.

Read-only, one-way

CraftNote reads your events and nothing else. It cannot create, move or delete anything on your calendar, and the access is one-way — your calendar is never written back to.

Setup · a few taps

Connect Google Calendar

Connecting a calendar is a Premium feature. You can connect from the CraftNote mobile app or the Mac app.

1

Open calendar sync

On mobile, open the Calendar tab and tap “Sync your calendar” (or Settings → Account → Calendar). On Mac, go to Settings → Calendar → “Connect Google Calendar”.

Connecting a calendar is part of CraftNote Premium.

2

Sign in with Google

CraftNote opens Google’s consent screen at accounts.google.com. Sign in and approve read-only access to your calendar and events.

CraftNote requests only read scopes — it can see your events, but never change them.

3

You’re connected

Your primary calendar syncs automatically, and your upcoming meetings appear in CraftNote ready to record, with a reminder before each one. You can add more calendars afterwards — up to fifteen in total.

Auto Join — where CraftNote joins and records calls for you — is a setting in the mobile app.

Permissions

What CraftNote can and can’t do with your calendar

The Google scopes are read-only. Everything below is what the connection allows — and what it deliberately doesn’t.

What Google Calendar can access

Read-only

Read access to the calendars you choose to sync.

  • Read your upcoming events and their details
  • Read the meeting link (Zoom, Meet, Teams) so it can join if you enable Auto Join
  • Read your account email to identify your calendar
  • Sync your primary calendar, plus up to fifteen more you add

What Google Calendar can’t access

Out of scope, intentionally.

  • No creating, moving or deleting events
  • No writing anything back to your calendar
  • No event content from calendars you haven’t added — only their names, so you can pick them
  • No access to your Google account beyond your email address

Control

How to disconnect

You can disconnect from CraftNote at any time. The Google token is properly revoked, so CraftNote can no longer read your calendar.

On mobile

Calendar → your account row → red “−” → confirm

Removes the calendar connection and revokes CraftNote’s access to your Google Calendar.

On Mac

Settings → Calendar → Disconnect

Disconnects the calendar and revokes the Google token. Your upcoming meetings stop appearing in CraftNote until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Does CraftNote write to my Google Calendar?

No. The connection is read-only and one-way. CraftNote can read your upcoming events, but it cannot create, move or delete anything on your calendar.

Will it automatically join and record my meetings?

Only if you turn on Auto Join, which is a setting in the CraftNote mobile app. With it on, CraftNote sends a bot that joins your Zoom, Meet or Teams call about five minutes before it starts and records it. With it off — or on desktop — you get a reminder to record and start manually.

Which calendars does it sync?

By default, your primary calendar. You can add more afterwards, up to fifteen in total. Only the calendars you’ve added have their events read — CraftNote can see your other calendars’ names so you can pick them, but not their contents.

Is connecting a calendar free?

Connecting a calendar is a CraftNote Premium feature. Recording and transcribing your own meetings works on the free tier; the calendar sync and reminders are part of Premium.

How do I disconnect?

On mobile, open the Calendar tab, tap your account row and the red “−”. On Mac, go to Settings → Calendar → Disconnect. Either way, Google’s access token is revoked and CraftNote stops reading your calendar.

Connect your calendar and never miss a meeting again.

CraftNote reminds you before every call — and can record it for you. Start free, then connect Google Calendar from the app.
