CraftNote for Outlook Calendar
CraftNote logoOutlook Calendar

Your Outlook meetings, ready to record.

Connect Outlook and CraftNote shows your upcoming meetings, reminds you to record just before each one, and can optionally auto-join and record the call — with your personal or your work Microsoft account.

Overview

What connecting Outlook does

CraftNote reads your Outlook calendar so your meetings appear in the app ahead of time. It uses that for a reminder just before a call and, if you turn it on, an optional meeting bot that joins and records. The connection is read-only — CraftNote never writes to your calendar.

What you get

See upcoming events and attach a note to each, get a reminder about a minute before a call, and — with Auto Join on in the mobile app — have CraftNote join your Zoom, Meet or Teams call and record it. Works with both personal Microsoft accounts and work or school accounts.

Read-only, one-way

CraftNote reads your events and your account email, and nothing else. It cannot create, move or delete anything on your calendar, and access is one-way — your Outlook calendar is never written back to.

Setup · a few taps

Connect Outlook Calendar

Connecting a calendar is a Premium feature. You can connect from the CraftNote mobile app or the Mac app.

1

Open calendar sync

On mobile, open the Calendar tab and tap “Sync your calendar”, then choose Outlook. On Mac, go to Settings → Calendar and choose Outlook.

Connecting a calendar is part of CraftNote Premium.

2

Sign in with Microsoft

CraftNote opens Microsoft’s sign-in at login.microsoftonline.com. Sign in with a personal or a work/school account and approve read-only access to your calendar.

The consent screen accepts both personal Microsoft accounts and work or school accounts.

3

You’re connected

Outlook syncs all of your calendars automatically. Your upcoming meetings now appear in CraftNote, ready to record, with a reminder before each one.

Auto Join — where CraftNote joins and records calls for you — is a setting in the mobile app.

Permissions

What CraftNote can and can’t do with your calendar

The Microsoft scopes are read-only. Everything below is what the connection allows — and what it deliberately doesn’t.

What Outlook Calendar can access

Read-only

Read access to your Outlook calendars.

  • Read your upcoming events and their details
  • Read the meeting link (Zoom, Meet, Teams) so it can join if you enable Auto Join
  • Read your account email to identify your calendar
  • Keep the connection alive so you don’t re-authenticate constantly

What Outlook Calendar can’t access

Out of scope, intentionally.

  • No creating, moving or deleting events
  • No writing anything back to your calendar
  • No access to your mail, files or contacts
  • No access to your Microsoft account beyond your profile and email

Control

How to disconnect

You can disconnect from CraftNote at any time — it clears the connection on our side. Microsoft doesn’t support revoking the token programmatically, so if you also want to remove the grant on Microsoft’s side, do it in your Microsoft account settings.

From CraftNote

Calendar (mobile) or Settings → Calendar (Mac) → Disconnect

Removes the Outlook connection and clears the stored records. Your upcoming meetings stop appearing in CraftNote.

From Microsoft (optional)

myaccount.microsoft.com → app permissions → remove CraftNote

Microsoft doesn’t let apps revoke their own token, so remove the grant here if you want it gone on Microsoft’s side as well.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Does it work with my work Outlook account?

Yes. The connection uses Microsoft’s “common” sign-in, which accepts both personal Microsoft accounts and work or school accounts. Your admin’s policies still apply, as with any Microsoft app.

Can I choose which Outlook calendars to sync?

Not currently — Outlook syncs all of your calendars automatically. (The per-calendar picker is available for Google Calendar.)

Does CraftNote write to my Outlook calendar?

No. The connection is read-only and one-way. CraftNote can read your upcoming events, but it cannot create, move or delete anything, and it has no access to your mail, files or contacts.

How do I fully disconnect?

Disconnect from CraftNote (Calendar on mobile, or Settings → Calendar on Mac) to stop the sync on our side. Microsoft doesn’t allow apps to revoke their own token, so to remove the grant on Microsoft’s side too, go to myaccount.microsoft.com and remove CraftNote from your app permissions.

Is connecting a calendar free?

Connecting a calendar is a CraftNote Premium feature. Recording and transcribing your own meetings works on the free tier; the calendar sync and reminders are part of Premium.

Connect Outlook and never miss a meeting again.

CraftNote reminds you before every call — and can record it for you. Start free, then connect Outlook from the app.
